OUR STORY
Music has always been at the heart of our story. Jackie and Lloyd first met in the Philippines while performing at church, where they discovered both a shared love of music and a strong connection with each other. After university, they performed professionally in bars, clubs, festivals and local events before moving to the UK.
Our British journey began with regular performances at the Kings Arms in Surrey, thanks to family friend Malcolm Briant. After settling in Derby, Liam and Lyris joined the music-making and Soulmates Family naturally became a true family act. Today, Jackie and Lloyd work full-time in the NHS while the children balance school, studies and their own activities—yet music remains the time that keeps the family connected.
From winning the regional Soundwaves Music Competition at O2 Academy Birmingham to building a worldwide audience during lockdown and performing across the UK with support from Arts Council England, our purpose remains the same: bringing people together through music, culture and joy.

Jackielou is the heart and soul of The Soulmates Family. Her voice is a blend of power and emotion, captivating audiences with every performance. Whether singing a soaring ballad or an upbeat dance anthem, she delivers music straight from the heart.Beyond the stage, Jackielou is also a dedicated music teacher, nurturing the next generation of musicians with her passion and expertise. When she’s not performing or teaching, she works in healthcare, bringing comfort and care to those in need—proving that her gift extends beyond music and into the lives of others.

Lloyd is the band’s musical backbone, writing songs, crafting intricate melodies and driving rhythms that shape The Soulmates Family’s signature sound. His playing is a fusion of classic rock power and melodic storytelling, making each performance a journey through sound.When not performing, Lloyd spreads kindness and care as a Senior Anaesthetic nurse for the NHS. His dedication to provide the highest standard of care has made his a good educator and a charismatic leader.
