The Soulmates Family are a British-Filipino family band from Derby, UK, bringing together Manila Sound, disco soul, pop fusion, and feel-good live music with heartfelt storytelling and powerful family harmonies.
Made up of husband-and-wife duo Jackielou and Lloyd alongside their children Lyris and Liam, the band have built a unique identity balancing NHS careers, family life, and a shared passion for music. What started as music sessions at home quickly grew into award-winning performances, viral online moments, and appearances across festivals, concerts, and Filipino community events around the UK.
Known in the UK Filipino community as the “Pambansang Family Band,” Soulmates Family combine uplifting energy, nostalgic influences, and cultural pride inspired by Soul and Pop legends.
From winning the Soundwaves Music Competition at Birmingham’s O2 Academy, becoming runners-up at BBC Radio Derby’s Derbyvision, to winning Best Musical Group at the UK-based Side Projects Music Awards, the family continue to inspire audiences through music that celebrates love, unity, resilience, and Filipino culture.

Last night, our original song 💎 Diamond in the Night was crowned the winner of Derbyvision 2026, and our hearts are overflowing with gratitude.
To everyone who came to St Luke's Church, cheered us on, voted for us, streamed our music, shared our posts, and supported us throughout this journey — THANK YOU. This award belongs as much to you as it does to us. ❤️
As a British-Filipino family band, we have always believed in the power of music to bring people together. To stand on that stage and share our original music with Derby was an honour. To win is beyond anything we imagined.
We dedicate this award to our dear friend, Jasten, who sadly passed away in November. Jasten was one of our biggest supporters from the very beginning. He believed in us, encouraged us, and celebrated every milestone with us. We know he would have been smiling proudly last night. This one is for you, our friend. 💙
We also dedicate this victory to the entire Filipino community — not just in Derby, but across the United Kingdom 🇵🇭🇬🇧. Thank you for embracing us, supporting our music, and allowing us to represent our culture on this platform. We hope this achievement inspires more Filipino artists and creatives to share their talents with the world.
A huge congratulations to Sam Rushton and the entire Derby Theatre Communities team for creating such an incredible event and for supporting original music and local artists. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share our story and our song.
